I was a crafty child; building small villages out of Paper Mache and creating unique greeting cards for classmates and friends. In May of 2000, I accompanied a buddy to a local bookstore and began browsing the craft section in search of something new to feed my creative hunger. That is when I became intrigued with melt & pour soap simply because I could color and scent it anyway I want! It was perfect. Apricot and cinnamon, peppermint and lemongrass, there was no stopping me! Before I’d realized, there was soap pouring out of my ears, so I gave a few bars to family and friends. With such a positive response to the scent combos, and at the same time I was becoming more interested in the whole soap making process, my journey began on learning all I can about soap and its origin. Soon thereafter, my first batch of homemade soap was born.
The timeless method of natural soap making is an art form. From the combination of vegetable oils to the addition of dried herbs and colorful spices, each bar is like a snowflake, truly unique. I choose oils based on the properties they lend to the soap and skin. For example, coconut oil adds a nice bubbly lather. Olive oil is an exceptional skin treatment and when added to soap, it releases a creamy lather unlike any other. Quality fragrance oils, essential oils, grains, oats, ground spices and approved colorants are used to color and scent each soap that I offer. On the Boulevard, I believe in no-nonsense soap making, which means starting with the hand selection of each ingredient and ending with the hand wrapping of each bar, every step is done to perfection. This is my gift to you, enjoy.
